Carshop
on Trax for Expansion Drive |

Gent
Visick, the Leeds based industrial property specialists,
have sold Trax Park, a 123,000 sq ft warehouse
unit, located off Junction 3 of the M18 in Doncaster
to the Carshop Group. The building, constructed
in 2005, was owned by UBS in a fund managed by
Protego Real Estate Investors.
Gent Visick, who originally sold the building
to UBS, confirmed that a change of use planning
permission had been granted to enable Carshop
to convert the premises into its fourth UK Megastore.

The
car dealership, which currently operates sites at
Northampton, Cardiff and Swindon, has chosen the
site close to the A1 and M18 as a base from which
to establish its presence in the north of the country
whilst locations for further stores are being sought.
Carshop claim to provide a ‘lowest price guarantee’,
by partnering with blue-chip companies to sell used-cars
held on a sale or return basis, thus minimising
costs.
Andrew Gent of Gent Visick commented: “This transaction
is a massive boost for the M18 corridor market.
Whilst there has been limited stock in the M62 corridor
the M18 corridor has seen significant speculative
development with a number of existing buildings
currently available. The sale of Trax Park is just
the impetus needed to kick start further sales or
lettings in this market.”
